Day at the Statehouse is Feb. 2

Thursday (Feb. 2) is the day set aside for Kansas newspaper editors and publishers to come to Topeka, discuss legislation and have lunch with legislators at the Kansas Press Association’s “Day at the Statehouse.”

As of Wednesday, we had more than 50 KPA members scheduled to attend the event. If you still want to attend, please do so but email Emily Bradury at ebradbury@kspress.com so we'll be ready for you.

Rich Gannon, director of governmental affairs, said this day is important: “These one-on-one meetings are one key to our continued success at the Statehouse.”

Agenda

8:45 a.m.     open auditorium (near public entrance on north end of Capitol) 

9 a.m.          KPA Member Legislative Update 

9:30 a.m.     Move around the Capitol 

10:45 a.m.    Meet at the House Gallery to be recognized when they gavel into session 

Noon          Lunch (outside old Supreme Court room at south end of third floor); networking with legislators 

2:15 p.m.     Meet at the Senate Chamber’s main doors to be ushered in to private gallery

3 p.m.         Meet as a group in auditorium to debrief

4 p.m.         KPA board meeting.
