Are you utilizing free legislative coverage?

LAWRENCE — Journalism students at the University of Kansas have been uploading from two to four stories each day since the Kansas legislative session began in January for use by Kansas Press Association members.

This service, called the KU Statehouse Wire Service, is made possible through a grant from the Kansas Newspaper Foundation. Access to the content is free to KPA members.

A number of stories are on the website and available for use, ranging from stories on seat belt use, abortion, election laws, bodycams for police officers, veterans' affairs and a variety of other topics.

"This service is providing needed content to our members, so I hope a number of newspapers are taking advantage of this opportunity," said Doug Anstaett, KPA executive director. "The students are supplying unique content to newspapers."
