It's Sunshine Week; tell your readers about it
This week, March 11 to 17, is National Sunshine Week, a project of the Amerian Society of News Edtors.
Participants in the special week include print, broadcast and online news media, civics groups, non-profits, schools and libraries.
The activities are funded from a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to enlighten the public about their right to government information and strengthen their communities.
To download materials for the week, go to sunshineweek.org. The toolkit includes opinion columns, editorial cartoons, logos, icons and an assortment of freedom of information resources.
In addition, KPA has provided a column by Doug Anstaett for your use. It was emailed out on Friday, March 9, but you can also get it be clicking here.
