Belle Plaine, Oxford newspapers change hands

J. Lynn Davis is the new owner of The Bell Plaine News and The Oxford Register in Sumner County.

In a joint statement, current owner Shayleen Casteel and Davis announced the sale of the two newspapers.

Davis is a long-time Belle Plaine resident and a 1980 graduate of Belle Plaine High School. He has been a restaurant and hotel manager and currently delivers the Wichita Eagle. He is a former Belle Plaine City Council member and wrote articles for the News.

Casteel had owned the newspaper since 2006.
