New speed limits on portion of Main Street in Scott City

Scott City, Kan.–(westernkansasnews.com)–U.S. Highway 83 has thousands of trucks and vehicles travel the highway on a daily basis. It’s used a connection from southwest Kansas to Interstate 70 and beyond.

This week, a portion of the highway will see a change of speed as they travel through Scott City.

Travelers on U.S. Highway 83, also Main Street in Scott City, will see a reduced speed. From the intersection of 9th and Main Street to the Main and Glenn Avenue intersection, will see a drop to 35 mph to 30 mph. North of 9th Stree will remain at 20 mph, while south of Glenn Avenue is still at 40 mph.
