Garden City Police arrest man after crashing into signpost

Garden City, Kan.–A Garden City man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his pickup into a pedestrian crosswalk signpost Wednesday evening.

Shortly before 7 p.m., Officers responded to the 700 block of N. 4th Street for a non-injury accident involving a vehicle and a signpost. The investigation revealed that 75-year-old David Brenn was traveling northbound on N. 4th Street when he veered off the roadway and struck a signpost, destroying it on impact. Further investigation revealed that Brenn was driving under the influence and reportedly registered a blood alcohol content three times over the legal limit.

He was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail for DUI. No injuries were reported, and the City of Garden City Street Department assisted with cleanup at the scene.
