GCHS Marching Stampede Takes Top Rating at Competition
The Garden City High School Marching Stampede competed at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Marching Band Festival on Tuesday, October 21, at Buffalo Stadium on the Garden City High School campus. The band received a Superior – One rating at the competition. The other bands that competed in the event included: Dodge City, Great Bend, Hays, and Liberal. Five judges were on hand to rate each performance.
This wrapped up the season for the Marching Stampede. During the season the band competed at the Central States Marching Festival at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas in early October. The band also competed at the Air Capital Marching invitational hosted at Goddard High School in September.
Ryan Partin is the band director and Andrew Theisen is the assistant band director at Garden City High School.
