Area teams to begin State Volleyball play on Thursday

Six area schools will compete in the 2025 KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournament, beginning on Thursday and running through Saturday. This year features a different format, where there will only be one classification playing on one day, instead of two at three of the four sites like in previous years. Classes 5A, 3A and 1A, Division I will play on Thursday, Class 6A, 4A and 2A as well as 1A, Division II will play on Friday, with the final rounds to be played on Saturday.

Class 1A, Division I will play at at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City. Pool B will see all three area schools in the same pool. South Gray will be the No. 2 seed, Spearville the No. 3 seed, and Greeley County will be the No. 6 seed. Quinter is the other team the pool and is the No. 7 seed. Defending champion Little River is the top seed, Centralia is the No. 4 seed, Goessel the No. 5 seed and Frankfort is the No. 8 seed.

Class 1A, Division I will be playing on Thursday, with matches beginning at 10 am at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City. The top two teams out of each pool wil advance to brack play on Saturday.

Class 1A, Division I

Class 1A, Division II will play beginning Friday at White Auditorium in Emporia. Three area schools will be competing, and will all be in the same pool. Ingalls drew the No. 2 seed, while Dighton is the No. 6 seed and Bucklin is the No. 7 Seed. Linn is the fourth team involved and is the No. 3 seed. The other pool features top seed Marais Des Cygnes Valley, No. 4 seed Victoria, No. 5 seed Hanover and No. 8 seed Axtell.

The top two teams in each pool will advance to bracket play on Saturday.
