Garden City Schools To Hold Enrollment Nights During The Week
There will be a number of schools that will hold Enrollment Nights during the week for parents to get their child registered for the 2026-2027 school year. The schools holding enrollment events include
On Monday, April 20th, Edith Scheuerman Elementary School office will be available during the day to help families enroll. Plymell Elementary School from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 21st, Kenneth Henderson Middle School from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Virtual Academy from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., and Georgia Matthews Elementary School from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Bernadine Sitts Intermediate Center from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 22nd, Buffalo Jones Elementary School from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Charles Stones Intermediate Center from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m., and Edith Scheuerman Elementary School from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
On Thursday, April 23rd, Alta Brown Elementary School from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Abe Hubert Elementary School from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Buffalo Jones Elementary School from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Charles Stones Intermediate Center from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m., and Jennie Wilson Elementary School from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Parents will need to go to the district’s website at www.gckschools.com to complete the online registration process on Skyward. Parents will need to use an iPad, laptop, or desktop computer for the registration process.
Parents with currently enrolled children will need their Family Access username/password for the registration process. If they do not have one yet, they will need to contact their child’s school. On the Skyward enrollment home page, there will be a message for each current student that needs to register. In the message, there is a link to click on that will take the parent to that student’s registration form. Parents will need to follow the prompts and complete all the information. Once all of the steps have been completed, the parent will submit the form. Once the form is submitted, an email will be sent to the parent’s email.
For new students to the district, go to the district’s website at www.gckschools.com to request a new student account. Parents will need to go to the Menu, Enrollment, Enrollment for the 2026-27 School Year, and then click on Request a New Student Enrollment account. Parents will receive an email to verify their account, and then need to log back in to Skyward to follow the process to enroll their child.
New students who will be 3 and 4 years old by August 31st, can register for enrollment online. Returning students for the next school year will also enroll online. Parents will need their Family Access username/password for the enrollment process.
Parents that have a child eligible for Kindergarten, that will be five years old by August 31st and that are not currently attending Garfield Early Childhood Center, will need to click on add a new student to register their child. Parents will need to upload that child’s birth certificate, immunizations, parent ID and their proof of address.
The district encourages parents to pay any outstanding fees at this time. Parents will need to check with their child’s school on the status of any outstanding or current fees, or they can see them on Skyward. The 2026-2027 school fees will be available online starting July 7, 2026.
The district is requesting parents update their contact information so schools can contact them about their child during the school year.
