Newton Recreation Commission to review racquetball court renovation bids

The Newton Recreation Commission will meet at 7 a.m. May 15 at the Newton Activity Center, 415 N. Poplar St.

Commission members are scheduled to discuss the district’s budget timeline, a USD 373 appointment to the recreation commission board, HVAC replacement at the Activity Center and flooring replacement for the Fischer Field restroom and locker room areas.

Action items on the agenda include approval of requisitions, bids to renovate racquetball courts, purchase of a field groomer and adoption of a five-year capital improvement plan.

The meeting also includes staff reports, financial reports and an executive session for personnel matters.
