Attorney General Kobach Announces Victory in Title IX Challenge

TOPEKA –Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced that Kansas’s legal challenge to the Biden-era Title IX rule has ended in complete victory. The rule would have forced schools to grant biological males access to women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams based on gender identity instead of biological sex while punishing students and teachers who dared to speak the truth about biological reality.

“The Biden Title IX rule was a direct assault on women and girls. It forced them to share intimate facilities and compete against biological males in sports, taking away their safety, fairness, and privacy,” Kobach said. “This radical policy betrayed the very purpose of Title IX by sacrificing the rights and opportunities of female athletes and students on the altar of left-wing gender ideology. I am proud to have led the fight that killed this unlawful and dangerous mandate once and for all.”

In 2024, Kansas led a powerful coalition including Alaska, Utah, Wyoming, Moms for Liberty, Young America’s Foundation, Female Athletes United, and brave affected students and parents. Their efforts blocked the Biden rule from taking effect in Kansas and across the country. A parallel federal court ruling in Tennessee later declared the rule illegal and unconstitutional nationwide. With the rule’s defenders now abandoning any further defense, the Kansas-led coalition has formally prevailed and is dismissing its case.
