Little change in latest drought monitor
The latest Kansas drought monitor has shown very little change over the past week.
According to new numbers released Thursday, a majority of southwest Kansas remains in the Severe Drought category. A tiny portion of Meade County is in the Extreme Drought category, while the rest is in a Moderate Drought.
All of northeast Kansas, along with a good chunk of southeast and north central Kansas are not experiencing a drought.
While wheat harvest is in full swing across the state, there are chances of showers and thunderstorms over the weekend into the beginning of next week.
