Dodge City High School announces new head coaches for baseball, softball
The Dodge City High School Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Alexis Penick as the Head Coach of the Lady Demon Softball program, and Daniel Finder as the Head Coach of Red Demon Baseball.
Softball:
The Dodge City High School Athletic Department is thrilled to announce the hiring of Alexis Penick as the new Head Coach of the Lady Demon Softball program, pending Board of Education approval at the next scheduled meeting. Coach Penick brings a wealth of passion, experience, and leadership to the team, marking an exciting new chapter for Dodge City High School Softball.
The Athletic Department is eager to welcome Penick and anticipates a bright future under her guidance.
“We are incredibly excited to have Alexis join our coaching staff,” said Justin Briggs, Dodge City High School Activities Director. “Her immense love and deep knowledge of the game will be an invaluable asset to our softball program moving forward. We are confident in her ability to lead and inspire our student-athletes.”
Coach Penick is ready to bring her vision for the program to life, emphasizing character development alongside athletic excellence. Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Penick stated:
“I am incredibly honored to be selected as the next Head Coach of Lady Demon Softball. This opportunity is truly a dream come true, and I am so thankful for everyone who has supported me and helped shape my journey along the way. I am excited to embrace this opportunity and lead a program built on a strong team culture, accountability, hard work, and pride. My goal is to develop not only successful athletes, but young women who represent Dodge City High School with character and who make our school and community proud. The future is incredibly bright for Lady Demon Softball, and I can’t wait to get started. I am excited to see what we can accomplish together.”
Baseball:
The Dodge City High School Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Daniel Finder as the new head baseball coach of the Red Demons, pending Board of Education approval at the next scheduled meeting. Finder steps into this role after serving as an assistant coach on the Red Demon staff for the past five seasons.
“I am incredibly honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as the head baseball coach at Dodge City High School. We have a great group of young men in our program, and I look forward to helping them grow, compete, and achieve our goals both on and off the field. I’m excited to get to work and continue building this program!”
Finder currently serves as the physical education teacher at Central Elementary for USD 443. He holds additional roles as an assistant football coach for DCHS and as the general manager of the Dodge City A’s. He and his wife Kylie have three children: Fletcher (6), Jhett (4), and Brynlee (2).
