Holcomb man arrested after traveling at high rate of speed

Holcomb, Kan.–Just before midnight on August 2, officers with the Holcomb Police Department observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Railroad Avenue approaching the city limits of Holcomb at a high rate of speed.

Using radar, officers determined that the vehicle was traveling 105 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone in the 5000 block of Railroad Avenue.

With the assistance and cooperation of the Finney County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was safely stopped by Holcomb Police officers. During the traffic stop, officers observed the driver throw an item from the vehicle. The item was later recovered and identified as suspected marijuana.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Aaron Garcia-Gonzalez of Holcomb, was taken into custody without incident. Garcia-Gonzalez was arrested and lodged for speeding (105 mph in a 65 mph zone), failing to have a required ignition interlock device installed, interference with a law enforcement officer and unlawful possession of THC and Marijuana.
