Drought strengthens across Kansas
According to the latest drought monitor for Kansas, drought conditions continue to strengthen across the state, thanks in part to the hot temperatures.
For southwest Kansas, most of the area is in a Moderate Drought. Parts of Wichita, Greeley, Hamilton and Kearny, along with portions of Gray, Morton, Stevens, Meade, and Clark counties see themselves in a Severe Drought. A majority of Scott and Lane counties are either Abnormally Dry or not experiencing a drought.
Temperatures will continue to be above normal throughout the next week, with chances of moisture entering the picture in the middle of next week.
