Rodriguez Hat Trick Powers Garden City Past Redlands, 10-0

GARDEN CITY, KS (Garden City Community College Athletics) — Pascalle Rodriguez recorded a hat trick, while Olivia Forsyth and Summer Barrett each scored twice as Garden City Community College rolled past Redlands Community College, 10-0, on Saturday.

The Broncbusters controlled the match from the opening whistle and needed just 85 seconds to break through. Rodriguez opened the scoring at the 1:25 mark before Barrett doubled the advantage less than two minutes later, finishing a pass from Forsyth to give Garden City an early 2-0 lead.

Garden City continued to create opportunities throughout the opening half. Forsyth sent one attempt off the crossbar in the 10th minute, while several other chances forced Redlands goalkeeper Emma Baumann into action.

Rodriguez eventually added her second goal in the 32nd minute, pushing the lead to 3-0. Forsyth then found the back of the net with 1:12 remaining before halftime, scoring off an assist from Abi Platt to send the Broncbusters into the break with a four-goal cushion.

The offensive pressure only increased in the second half. Barrett scored her second goal of the match just 2:36 after the restart, with Platt collecting her second assist of the afternoon.

Forsyth followed with her second goal in the 51st minute before setting up Gabriella Lima moments later. Platt then joined the scoring, finishing an assist from Rodriguez as Garden City stretched its advantage to 8-0 during a four-goal surge early in the second half.

Rodriguez completed the hat trick in the 71st minute, converting Forsyth’s third assist of the match. Isla Roberts capped the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 81st minute.

Seven different Broncbusters scored in the victory. Rodriguez led the way with three goals and an assist, while Forsyth finished with two goals and three assists. Barrett added two goals, Platt contributed a goal and two assists, and Lima and Roberts each scored once.

Garden City finished with 33 shots and seven corner kicks while holding Redlands to five shots and one corner. Millie D’Ath made a late save to preserve the shutout in goal as the Broncbuster defense kept Redlands off the scoreboard for the full 90 minutes.
