Downtown Lawrence icon ‘Stan the Mailman’ retires after three decades
Stanley Halbert, widely known as “Stan the Mailman,” has retired after a longtime stint as the downtown Lawrence mail carrier. He looked back on his career and the many relationships he forged over chocolate chip cookies and doting on shop cats.
