Garden City man dies in single vehicle accident

Garden City, Kan.–A Garden City man died as a result of a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers from the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to the area of Schulman Avenue and the U.S. Highway 50/83 bypass for a report of a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located a blue Chevrolet Camaro in the ditch with significant front end damage.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Camaro was traveling northbound on the bypass when it left the roadway, struck a traffic sign, and then collided with a concrete culvert. The driver and sole occupant, 26-year-old Alejandro Alvis Gonzalez, of Garden City, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
