Little change in latest drought monitor

There has been little change in the latest Kansas drought monitor map released on Thursday morning.

While northeast Kansas seen the most relief in the drought, southwest Kansas remained nearly the same as a week ago. Most of the area is still in a Severe Drought, while there are pockets of Moderate Drought, and being Abnormally Dry. Most of Scott and Lane Counties are not experiencing a drought at this time.

Rainfall Wednesday and Thursday are not reflected on the current map. Data is collected by Tuesday morning. While the weekend looks to dry out, the first part of next week sees another chance of moisture for the region.
