City of Dodge City Names Jerad Goertzen as Police Chief of the Dodge City Police Department
DODGE CITY, Kansas – The City of Dodge City is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerad Goertzen as Police Chief of the Dodge City Police Department following his position as Interim Police Chief.
Goertzen has served the department since 2006, bringing in 20 years of dedicated service and experience in a wide range of roles. Over the course of his career, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Deputy Chief, Support Services Captain, and most recently as Interim Police Chief.
“It is an honor to be named Police Chief of my hometown. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead our department and, most importantly, to serve this community,” said Chief Goertzen. “I believe the strongest communities are built when law enforcement and residents work together. My goal is to ensure our department remains accessible, responsive, and accountable to the people we serve. I encourage everyone to share their concerns, ideas, and experiences with us. With his appointment as Police Chief, Goertzen will continue leading the Dodge City Police Department with a focus on providing excellent service, maintaining public safety, and strengthening community trust.
