Resurfacing project to begin in Ford County
The Kansas Department of Transportation will start a mill and overlay project along K-34 on Monday, Oct. 26, from the west junction of U.S. 54 north to the U.S. 400 junction in Ford County.
This 3.6-mile project will reduce K-34 to one lane and traffic will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. Motorists should be aware of delays of up to 15 minutes through the work zone. K-34 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division, of Hutchinson, is the contractor on this $615,456.56 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
For more information on this project, contact David Ubel, area construction manager, at 620-682-7938, or Yazmin Moreno, public information officer, at 620-765-7080.
