Posted October 29, 2026

TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly today announced that over $10.7 million in federal funding will be allocated to 64 community-based organizations, as well as local and state agencies, to support victim services throughout Kansas. This funding from the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance grant program helps ensure survivors of crime receive the support they need.

“These local organizations provide essential services to Kansans impacted by crime,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “Through this funding, survivors can access the services they need to move forward with their lives, navigate the criminal justice system, and regain a sense of normality and safety.”

VOCA funds enable victim service providers to provide services to Kansas residents who have emotional, psychological, and physical needs after a criminal event. Services include court advocacy and criminal justice support, crisis counseling and other mental health supports, forensic interviews, shelter, transportation, transitional housing, and more.

A total of $10,795,287 was awarded to 64 organizations. Local organizations are posted below.
