Raised in a newspaper family, she studied journalism and Spanish at Kansas State University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1987. She earned a master’s degree in Latin American studies from the University of Kansas in 1989 and has worked in newsrooms ever since.
Scott Stanford was named general manager for the Media Division of The World Company in Lawrence, Kan. in September 2013.
He has oversight of the Lawrence Journal-World and its affiliated websites, weekly newspapers in Baldwin, Tonganoxie, Bonner Springs and Shawnee, and Sunflower Publishing.
Susan Lynn extends her family’s tradition with The Iola Register into a fourth generation. Susan took the helm from her father, Emerson E. Lynn, in 2000. Emerson continued to write editorials for The Register until a few months before his death in April 2013.
Peter Cook is publisher of the Parsons Sun and in that capacity also serves as advertising director for the Parsons Sun and its sister newspaper, The Chanute Tribune.
Before moving to Parsons in 2011, Cook was general manager of the Elkin Tribune in Elkin, NC.
