BOYD AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

Established in memory of Frank and Mamie Boyd, late publishers of the Phillips County Review, the Boyd Award recognizes an owner, publisher or employee of a Kansas newspaper who has demonstrated service and dedication to the betterment of his or her community. Winners receive a commemorative plaque.

GASTON OUTSTANDING MENTOR AWARD

Presented in memory of Karl and Dorothy Gaston, late publishers of the Ellsworth Reporter, the Gaston Award recognizes a Kansas newspaper employee or journalism educator who has been a successful mentor to young journalists. Winners receive a commemorative marble plaque.

VICTOR MURDOCK AWARD

Awarded in memory of Victor Murdock, late editor of The Wichita Eagle, the Murdock Award recognizes a writer or reporter for outstanding journalistic standards as exhibited through a story or series of stories published in a Kansas newspaper. Winners receive a commemorative medallion and cash award. The winner is chosen from the Awards of Excellence award winners in investigative reporting.

CLYDE M. REED JR. MASTER EDITOR AWARD

Named in memory of Clyde M. Reed Jr., late editor of the Parsons Sun, the Master Editor award recognizes a Kansas newspaper editor for a lifetime of achievement that involves commitment to his or her own community, the Kansas newspaper industry and the state. Winners receive a commemorative statuette.

KANSAS NEWSPAPER HALL OF FAME

The Kansas Newspaper Hall of Fame is an honor roll of journalists who have made outstanding contributions to their profession and to their state.
