Attorney General, two media groups to sponsor training

Meetings have been scheduled in July in five Kansas cities to train the public and press on the Kansas Open Records and Kansas Open Meetings acts.

The meetings are being coordinated by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. The Kansas Press Association and Kansas Sunshine Coalition for Open Government will help underwrite the events.

Here is the tentative schedule:

July 22: Garden City

July 23: Colby

July 24: Topeka

July 25: Pittsburg

July 26: Paola

Assistant Attorney General Lisa Mendoza will present overviews of KORA and KOMA, each followed by a panel discussion comprised of representatives of the print and broadcast media and public officials.
