Garden City man injured in two-vehicle accident
Finney County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Garden City man was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Finney County just after 7 a.m.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 39-year-old Lukas Demel of Garden City and a 2014 International Semi driven by 63-year-old Jeffrey A Wilson of Holcomb were traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 50 near milepost 75. Demel was traveling behind Wilson in the outside eastbound lane, when Wilson began to slow down to conduct a right hand turn and the front of the Demel vehicle collided into the trailer from the Wilson vehicle.
Demel was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City for suspected serious injuries, while Wilson was uninjured.
According to the KHP report, both drivers involved were wearing seatbelts.
