TOPEKA – In accordance with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has directed flags throughout the State of Kansas be lowered to half-staff from sunup to sundown on Monday, November 2, 2026, to honor farm workers’ rights leader Dolores Huerta.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dolores Huerta, who dedicated her life to fighting for farm workers’ rights, civil rights, and women’s equality,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “As co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union, her courage sparked a movement that transformed our country.
