Lawhorn named ME at Journal-World

Chad Lawhorn, long-time Lawrence Journal-World reporter and columnist, has been named managing editor of the newspaper.

Lawhorn will oversee the Journal-World’s staff of editors, reporters and photographers as well as the news staffs for The World Company’s weekly newspapers in Baldwin City, Tonganoxie, Bonner Springs and Shawnee.

He is a 14-year veteran of the Journal-World. He is the author of a weekly column, Lawhorn’s Lawrence, and the popular Town Talk column on LJWorld.com. He also covers city government and business for the newspaper.

He succeeds Julie Wright, who resigned.
