TOPEKA — In response to the devastating wildfires in south-central and southwest Kansas in March, the Kansas Newspaper Foundation voted Friday (April 7) to donate $10,000 to the Kansas Farm Bureau’s Disaster Relief Fund.

“A number of the communities our member newspapers serve were among those hit hard by these fires, and our readers also bore the brunt of the devastation, losing their farms, their homes and businesses,” said Doug Anstaett, executive director of the Kansas Press Association. “This gift to our long-time partner, the Kansas Farm Bureau, is designed to show we truly are all in this together."

The announcement was made at the annual convention of the press association after a panel of experts from Farm Bureau discussed the changing face of agriculture in Kansas.
