KPA plans to conduct market, readership study
The Kansas Press Association Board of Directors voted Nov. 2 to approve a market research and readership study.
The board authorized Doug Anstaett, KPA executive director, to begin negotiations with a private sector company to conduct a readership survey that will delve into newspaper use in Kansas. The study will be underwritten through the Kansas Newspaper Foundation's KPA Fund for Excellence.
The research also will include questions on where readers want to find their public notices. In recent years, legislators have suggested that cities, counties, school districts and others should have the option to publish notices on their own websites.
The project will kick off in the next few weeks, with results scheduled to be ready to release at KPA's annual convention in February.
