WKBC mourns the loss of longtime radio personality
Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Western Kansas Broadcast Center family is mourning the loss of longtime employee Michael Anthony, who passed away September 6 in Wichita.
For 20-plus years, Michael would be heard across several of the WKBC stations, well known as a radio personality on the area’s top country station, Q97. He has served as the afternoon voice and later served as the morning show host on Q97, entertaining loyal listeners with enteratainment news, birthdays, and even Monday’s after his beloved Dallas Cowboys won.
What many don’t know how loyal and dedicated Michael Anthony was to the company. He wore many hats, serving as Program Director, Production Director and Operations Manager, and worked nearly every day making sure all the programming was running properly. Michael was popular fixture at many remotes, from all the home shows to Dodge City Days, and everywhere in between. We will all miss his wit, humor and hard work and dedication to the company. He is already missed.
