Garden City Police reminds motorists of changes on Campus Drive during construction

Garden City, Kan.–Construction is underway on a portion of Campus Drive in Garden City, and the Garden City Police Department reminds motorists of changes during the construction period.

Contracted crews have begun construction on Campus Drive between Harding Avenue and Spruce Street, which is expected to take three weeks to be completed. During this time, there is no left turn in the 1000 block of Campus Drive onto E. Kansas Avenue. Although signs are posted, Officers have stopped several motorists trying to make a left turn from the outside lane and also worked a crash at this intersection last night that had contributing factors from the improper turn. Fines for this traffic violation are also doubled.

Please slow down, pay attention to posted signs and your surroundings, and give construction workers space to safely make repairs.
