Construction to begin in Dodge City on Tuesday

Dodge City, Kansas – Starting Tuesday, October 28, 14th Avenue at the Division Street intersection will be reduced to two-lane traffic. The two west lanes on 14th Avenue will be closed for waterline work, as shown on the map below. Please note that the two southbound lanes of traffic will be closed. During this time the two northbound traffic lanes will be converted to one southbound traffic lane and one northbound traffic lane. This portion of the project is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Also beginning Tuesday, October 28, Division Street from 11th Avenue to 14th Avenue will be closed for reconstruction. The project includes pavement removal, installation of a new waterline, new sidewalks, and new concrete pavement. This closure is expected to last eight weeks. During this time, 11th, 12th, and 13th Avenues will only be accessible from the north via Ash Street. Trash and mail services will continue as scheduled. Please refer to the map below for detour information.

As you travel through the construction area, please stay alert for construction equipment, loose or shifting soil, freshly placed concrete, tar sealant, and other potential hazards. Always be aware of your surroundings when passing through these zones. As construction progresses, please follow all traffic control measures to ensure the safety of both motorists and construction crews.
